'Tin of Snakes' is my new band, the brand new line up is; Phil Platt: Guitar, Roland GR20 Synth & Lead Vocals, Drew Dempster: Bass Guitars. Tony Cole: Drums & Perc. Mike Bell: Lead Guitar, it's taken a good while to finalise the line up but worth the wait, it's always hard to find musicians who want to play original material, most just want to stay in the safe lane and do cover stuff, as a writer of many years covering other peoples songs is simply not an option for me personally, working with Drew, Tony and Mike is fantastic for me because not only do they not mind playing my songs they like playing them so that is half the battle won, we are working on an album at the moment called 'Tin of Snakes' which is almost finished and ready to open!! I am also well into finishing the writing of a new concept idea called 'Dark Side Of The Earth' (see below) |

This is a project I have been working on for many a year and the writing is near completed in demo, I just can't wait to work on this with the full band to see what they will do with it, it has taken so long as it is not just music it is a complete project with video and animation most of which I also have in demo form, this is my attempt to bring back a taste of the sombre seventies polished and sugar coated with all the very latest 2011 technology. Guitar Mechanics is a thing I have been interested in for many years, I have always set up and repaired my own guitars and have also repaired and set up guitars for many other people as well, I do not build guitars from scratch and prefer to leave that to the many fantastic Luthiers we have in and around Manchester, (you will find links to these on the web site) I do however specialise in set ups repairs and modifications of all types of guitars and other instruments. Rocket Jam has organised a good few events over the last year or so, we have run both open mic and showcase event at the Steamhouse, Brooklands Tap, Jackson's Boat and The Ryecroft Hotel, all these were every week but we have also organised many other one off nights and are planning more in the very near future, all are hosted and pro PA and lighting is supplied for every event, all the event feature two or three other artists as well as the host. The biggest and by far the most successful event Rocket Jam has put on was on Aug 12th 2011 and was called 'The Smart Festival' a culmination of music and art going on all day right up to 12am the Smart Festival featured fifteen bands and artistes, because this first one was such a success we aim to put on another bigger and even better event in 2012, see the Smart web site below for details of the las one and for further info on next years. |

The Smart Festival started life as a pipe dream which quickly became a reality, I can only liken it to a snowball gathering size as it rock n rolled along, what started as just myself ended up with a team of over forty fantastic people all striving to make the event a great success, over 14 different artistes and bands performed more or less non stop from 12 pm till gone 12am, at night the sky was filled with fantastic music with an amazing laser display supplied by www.lambaplc.com All in all a fantastic day was had by all see the vids and pics on the site @ www.smartfestival.org |

Sirius Webs is my web & graphic design department, I have been building web sites for a good few years now and view it as more of an art form more than anything else really, all of my work tends to have the same colourful graphic stamp on it which many people think is unique, I put this down to the fact that I am self taught in web site & graphic design from the ground upwards, I am certain that in many cases I have took the long way round whilst learning techniques, however taking the long way round one can stumble upon things which may not be found hanging off the peg or using a 'monkey see monkey do' college approach which takes everyone the same route and therefore ultimately to the same place. My sites are all full of colour, graphics, music, animation and video, none of them are templates and all start off with a completely blank page, almost all of the graphics and design are all out of my own head, the ones that are not will bear the mark of whoever did the original design.
